What a week!
I just want to start out saying I really love what I have been called to do! I love helping Hna Carr and I love talking with and teaching people!!
This week was full of talking to people on the street, which I LOVE! It’s been a little crazy because we have tons of appointments but they all end up falling through.... which gives us more time to meet and help new people : ) I love meeting new people and sharing my testimony with them! It may sound funny but my favorite Contacts (when you talk with someone on the street) are when the person starts out cold or even angry with you and in the end you come out friends, maybe you didn’t get to make an appointment but you leave knowing you changed their day : ) And that was pretty much our week until........Friday ba ba baaaaa
So we were biking Friday afternoon after lunch and we were late so I may have been riding rather fast... and it was raining.... and I turned a corner..... aaaaaand Ate it!!! Though everything was fine, my knee was pretty beat up and we had to stay in the house the rest of the day : ( And as we were in the house talking the earth began to shake. For the first 5 sec. I just smiled at poor little Hna Carr excited for her to experience her first trimmer... 5 sec turned into 10 then 20 and I start to get worried as I realized that it’s just getting stronger and I’ve never really thought about what we should do in an earthquake, and just as I tell Hna Carr that Maybe it’s best if we make our way outside the earth slows. It turns out we had a 6.1 which in Chile is a strong trimmer! Wow what a blessing that we were in the house and not on our bikes in the rain!
This week we have worked a lot with Romina and Jorghe! They had a lot of questions about who/what is the Holy Ghost, so I have been studding a lot about this theme. If I need to teach who is the Holy Ghost I should understand his roles for myself! I found this scripture in John that, for me. Perfectly describes the role of Comforter that the Holy Ghost has:
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Fatherwill send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring allthings to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as theworld giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
I know that the Holy Ghost is a gift that we have from our Savor! We never need to feel scared because we can have the love of Christ with us : ) I have been learning that this week. There will always be someone better than you... always, that often leads to fear- if we let it! I often start to worry about my Spanish but when I trust in the Lord and remember I am in Chile for a reason more important than my Spanish my fear melts away : ) we always have the option to feel faith not fear!
I love you all and am praying that you can see the blessings of the Lord in your lives!!
Love,
Hna Fullmer
ps today we got to go to Santa Lucia, an old fort on a hill right in the middle of Santiago!! WAY awesome!
