This week.... I don´t think my letter will do it justice. Most of the week (Monday to Saturday) we spent in Santiago. My companion needed to see some doctors and we ended up staying until she was feeling better. I LOVE the city, I love the metro, the people, all of it! But I love my sector more: ) and it was so nice to get back to my little house Saturday night.
We have seen many miracles this week in our companionship and in the people we serve!
Our zone (group of missionaries in my area) is doing a 40 Days and 40 night fast in remembrance of Christ! Because there are almost exactly 40 missionaries in our zone we are doing a sort of relay, one missionary fasts for 24 hours then the next missionary starts. We have been fasting especially for the investigators and missionaries in this area. I have felt the blessings of this fast! First I have seen them in my companion. She was not doing well. But this week, we had the opportunity to get help from some Amazing friends leaders and Doctors and now she is able to work and enjoy her time here! This is a HUGE blessing for her and me! Though we are still have to work very hard together we are having fun! I love her a lot!
I have also seen a lot of change in my investigators. Especially in the Romina and Jorghe! We got to visit them Saturday night and had an awesome lesson about the Plan of Salvation, this is the wonderful plan that Christ and God have created for us! While we were talking Jorghe turned to me and asked ¨what do I need to do to get baptized¨ wow! We explained that there are three things that everyone needs to do to A. prepare to be baptized or B. continue to grow in Christ, 1. Read the scriptures, 2. Pray to strengthen your faith, and 3. Go to church to help others and to learn from them as well. I know that if we do these three things we cannot fail to become better people, better friends and better followers of Christ!
We were really excited at the end of this lesson because they said that they were going to come to church with us FOR SURE. But Sunday morning came and they were not at the church before it started. I was more than a little bummed, but I flipped to a scripture in D & C 123 17 Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.
After reading that I thought ¨YES! I have faith that God can help them come and feel the spirit! They’re going to show up any min. Wow! This is going to be soo awesome! It’s like a real life awesome missionary story!!¨.......they did not show up... haha I am still standing still with faith! And though they did not come this week I have faith that they will and they well be given the strength to change!
God will provide the way! Hold on to the Faith!
This work is true and this church is true, the Book of Mormon Changes lives!
Love always,
