This week we got to go to the Temple!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The temple is a type of chapel where we make more covenants (promises with God like baptism and marriage) with God.  Wow, it was awesome after more than a year to be in the Temple!

In this sector, our biggest problem is finding people a second time : ) Here in Santiago, the people work... a lot!! We find tons of amazing people, but when we come back, we can’t find them in their houses. We are working really hard with this and putting goals in place to fix this problem.

One of these investigadors is Joselyn. We called her, passed by when we could, and still couldn’t find her. I had nearly given up hope, but. . . yesterday we happened to be passing by when she was entering her house : ) I was so pumped! We got to share about the Book of Mormon, and she understood really well! The best part is that she’s excited about talking to her. . . I don’t really know what its called in English. . . when they are together (with kids) but not married? Well, just to make it easer and I’ll say her husband. She is excited to talk with her husband and invite him to listen to our message too!!! Yay!

This week was all about families! We worked hard this week to talk to all the families on the street, because this Gospel blesses families! That’s why I’m here, to help families be happy : )

We also found a less active family who we have been searching for! They don’t have much money, but through their faith, they are seeing miracles! When Vicky, the mom, made lunch, she only put in half of a bag of pasta into the pot, because they didn’t have more. But when she came back to finish cooking, the pot was full.  God is so very aware of us. Especially of our families! He loves our families, and I know that we can stay with them Forever!

This week my brother Austin and Ariel (my almost sister-in-law) will be getting married in the temple. We believe that when we get married in the temple we are sealed together forever. I am sooo very happy for them and for the family that they are starting!!!! Congrats!!!!!!!

I love you all!

HAPPY LATE MOTHERS DAY!!! I just adore my mother. I don’t know where I would be without her, but I know it wouldn’t be serving the Lord in Chile : ) How grateful I am for her!  This is a video that really pinpoints how very important motherhood really is!

http://motherhood.mormon.org/

This week was pretty normal (other then talking with my family yesterday for Mother’s Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!): going on lots of splits with the other sisters, praying for poeple, working with those poeple to see our prayers answered, and praying some more : ) This week I got to do a split with a Sister Smith from Texas : ) I loved being with a real good old Southern girl : )

We also found lots a families! Wow, am I grateful for my family! I never realized that maybe it was hard to have that unity and happiness in the home, because with the gospel of Christ it isn’t  : ) Well, maybe it still is still a little hard but doable : )

We met  a mother from Peru named Cresencia who lives with her 6 grown daughters and their families! Her main interest is peace in her home. I was so happy to be able to promise her that this peace is within reach! I know that when we work to be more like Christ the FIRST thing he blesses is our families! Before our work, before our social life, or our love life, he blesses the Family!

I have seen this with Matias and his family (His mom and grandma are less active members who are coming back to church!) I can see a difference in their home : ) They have less arguments, they are praying together, and they are happy! Also, they have found jobs and other temporal blessings!

I love this Gospel, I love my God, and I love seeing and promising to others that the blessings of God, peace, love, and calmness, all come when we follow him : )

Love you!

This week has been great! We had lots of Splits with the girls in our group and today we went to a lake with them to go paddle boating!! BEST DAY EVER : )
I am really trying hard to follow the Spirit more! This week I decided that I am going to talk with literally everyone I can! It has brought us lots of miracles. Though not all of the people we talk with are ready to accept this gospel we have made differences in their lives through the comfort and encouragement we are able to give!
My favorite part of this week was our lesson with Danela! She is a member of our ward who is less active because she is sick. She is a young mom and has been really struggling. When we showed her a video about holding on through trials (here is the video (its one of my favs)
http://www.mormonchannel.org/blog/post/good-things-to-come
) she burst into tears. I quickly moved to set next to her so she could cry on my shoulder. She told us about some problems her family is facing and how we always come just when she needs it and says just what she needs to hear. HOW GREATFUL I AM to have and follow the spirit! We do not change lifes we are just the tool with which God does his work. I know that everyone of us can be the hands of Christ here in the earth that he is waiting to work miracles if we only lend our hands and energy to him we will be part of his bring to pass great changes : )
I love you all and hope you can feel the holy spirit guiding your hands this week!

SHORT AND SWEET

Life is good! This week has been great!

We found a women SUPER prepared to hear the gospel! She is a lawyer and has never believed in, but she wants to! She is willing to do everything in her power to find her faith! Her name is Angela.

We are teaching 2 families who are part-members (some of the family are members and others haven’t been baptized yet), and both came to church with us this Sunday! One ended up getting very lost.  The grandma, Maria, (who isn’t a member) was determined, and they ended up walking 20 city blocks to find the chapel!! WOW!

I know God loves us, I know that this is his gospel, and I know he works miracles!

I love transfers because it gives us a chance to change! I’ve been in this sector for 3 transfers now, and we haven’t yet seen the fruits of our labors, and I had started to feel a little discouraged. Not that I doubted we were working hard or that we were doing the work of the Lord, but I thought that just maybe we wouldn’t ever see the results of our work. Well, The Hna. Ward is not in agreement with that train of thought. She is awesome! We are making more goals and are determined to see progress here! It has reminded me a lot of my favorite scripture in Doctrine and Covenants 123 17. Sometimes you just gotta wait for it!

“Therefore, dearly beloved brethren, let us cheerfully do all things that lie in our power; and then may we stand still, with the utmost assurance, to see the salvation of God, and for his arm to be revealed.”

We have been working a lot with finding new investigadores! This week we found Carlos! He´s just a hoot! He is a middle-aged man who lives with his son. He´s rockn’ the Chilean hipster with a mustache : ) He is very open to the gospel, but sometimes he likes to be a little stubborn just to be stubborn. For example, when Hna. Ward asked if it was ok if we started with a prayer, he said no that we had told him that we were going to talk, so we should talk first! Haha, I think it is just way funny, but my companion doesn´t know how to react... which makes it even funnier… poor girl : )

We also reconnected with Maggi! She was the neighbor of one of our Chilean moms. Maggi has been through a lot, and for a month she felt like she did not have time or energy for God, but we got to talk to her again this week! We are trying to help her see that we have faith to help us during the moments when we feel like we don’t have time or energy! She is very special, and though her lifestyle has been a little worldly, I know that I am here in Chile to help her.

I hope that your spring is just wonderful!

Love you!

MORE CHANGES

This week we had transfers.... Wow, I have never been sadder to see a companion go. We had our ups and downs, but Hna. Crump helped me make lots of changes that I needed to make.

My new companion is named Hna. Ward!!! I’ve sent a picture of her : ) She is from Idaho and has been in Chile for 9 months. This is the first time she´s worked in Santiago : ) Before she had always been out in the country! I’m excited to change the way we work and extend our reach!

This week we were blessed to have a visit from Elder Oaks (one of the 12 Apostles) It was amazing.  I think the best part was hearing from his wife! I could feel the love she had for us. One thing that they talked a lot about is that we are here to help people repent- not get baptized. Our goal should not be to baptize the world, or all of Chile, but to help every person we see make the changes that will help them find major happiness in their lives! I know that we have living prophets who lead us and guide us! And I feel very blessed to have heard from one this week : )

SED DE BUEN ANIMO!!

Love,

Hna. Fullmer

PS the first pic is of Hna. Crump and I; she bought Chilean cowboy hats but did have room in her bags to pack them.... so we just had to wear them to the office : )

MAKING CHANGES

This week was not just full of Miracles, but it was a miracle! My companion and I have really struggled these past 2 months. We just couldn´t seem to work well together, and both of us were often annoyed with the other. This week we changed. It´s hard to say what was the difference. I think we both decided to change. I stopped stressing out when things weren’t done the way that I thought was right, and she is learning to have more patience with me. Though we are about as different as they come, we are enjoying working together. We laugh and work and accept the others imperfections. This has made all the difference in the world!

This week we worked a lot with Jasmin. Wow, she´s way awesome! She is so excited to be part of our ward (congregation) and invites all of her friends to join her. In one of the rooms of the house she´s living in (here in Santiago, there are a lot of ¨rooms¨ which are big old houses that are now used for housing, every room has a different family but they share kitchens and bathrooms) there’s a boy named Pepè who is her friend (I usually call him her Special friend when she can´t hear me : ) ) She always talks about Pepè, and yesterday we finally met him! He´s a great kid and has a lot of interest in the gospel! Wow! We feel blessed to have found them both.....But she´s moving.... Like most immigrants here in Santiago her family doesn´t stay in the same spot for long. I am sad to see her go. I know that she is prepared to receive this great message from God, and that in her new home, too, she will find it! Because God gives us every opportunity to succeed!  He wants us to meet our goals and have happier homes.  And don´t worry we still be visiting Pepé her ¨special friend¨ : )

I want to share a scripture with you that I re-discovered this week in the Book of Mormon. This scripture is found in Alma 34:10-13, and talks about the atonement (the sacrifice of Christ) It reminded me just how special Christ is that he could pay for our sins, and that through his suffering we can be made free : )

10. For it is expedient that there should be a great and last sacrifice; yea, not a sacrifice of man, neither of beast, neither of any manner of fowl; for it shall not be a human sacrifice; but it must be an infinite and eternal sacrifice.

11 Now there is not any man that can sacrifice his own blood which will atone for the sins of another. Now, if a man murdereth, behold will our law, which is just, take the life of his brother? I say unto you, Nay.

12 But the law requireth the life of him who hath murdered; therefore there can be nothing which is short of an infinite atonement which will suffice for the sins of the world.

I love you all and hope that this coming week you can pray to feel the love of Christ more completely in your personal life and with your families : )

HAPPY EASTER!

It´s going to be a short one today : )

This week was full of ups and downs and splits (work days) with the other sisters  : )

My favorite part of this week was splits with my ¨granddaughter¨ Hna Ferrin! She is the entrainee [trainee] of my entrainee [trainee]! She made me laugh and forget about my own problems.

We´ve had a couple of disappointments with our investigators this week, but we found a part-member family. Their daughter Jasmin (15 years old) got to go to church with us, and all the youth took her right in!

I want to share a very special video with you all! It’s called “Because He Lives!” It´s for Easter, and I know that it will change the way you feel this Sunday : )

I know Christ lives! I know that he loves us and that through him we can find peace!

Love you all!

Hey guys : )

To start it off I’ll tell you a little about good old Julio and Nelson : )… They're the best! : ) Well, the first 4 times we talked with Nelson (all in random parts of our sector), he was more than a little drunk. I’m happy to say that my Spanish has gotten much better.... but not understand-drunk-man-from-Peru better : ) We ended up finding him (again) with his friend Julio (who we had met once before).

We invited them to come to church with us the next day and guess what... THEY CAME... and they weren’t even drunk!!! Yay! In the past two weeks they have been progressing A TON!!! Saturday, we passed by with Fransico (who just got baptized), and for the first time in two weeks Nelson was drunk, and Julio was a little tipsy.... it was hard to see them falling back. I bet that is how God feels to see us return to bad habits. But Francisco, who went through the same process laid down the law : ) We came back the next day when they were sober, and we taught about the Plan of Salvacion. They were able to see the consequences of the actions they are taking. When we explained what happens after death and how our choices now impact what happens after, Julio started telling us all about the how he DID NOT want to end up in any other place other than the celestial kingdom : ) This week their goals are: DON’T DRINK, read their Book of Mormon, and pray to know if its true! I really love these guys! That Francisco was with us, just put the icing on the cake : )

I know the church is true, I know that God loves us, and I know that the Book of Mormon CHANGES lives : )

Sed de Buen animo!!

Love,

Hna Fullmer

PS. This is a photo of Hna Crump and I enjoying mac and cheese with chicken nuggets and bbq, When we realized how Gringa (American) our lunch was, we had to take a pic : )

And the other is of a fruit we found ; ) enjoy!

The last photo is of the baptisms that Madison  spoke of last week.
