Week 3: Dogs, Detroit and Disney

Hello all!

It’s been another crazy good hard week at the CCM : )

A word about Santiago, It has many a dog : ) Usually they’re cute and often we have an extra friend on our runs : ) I actually like them a lot! But it is sad when you have to leave them at the gate and they just stare at you as you walk away.

A couple of nights ago I woke up in the middle of the night a split second before one of my roommates ran out of the room coughing like crazy. Because I had woken up, I was able to help her. As I was trying to fall back asleep after I was trying to figure out why I had woken up, I sleep through everything, even the trimmer we had, but I woke up for this sister. I realized that waking up in the middle of the night to help someone in need is exactly what I want to do. I want to help others, more than anything, I want to help others!  I know that God will help us receive these righteous desires we have! I know that I am in Chile for just that, to help in anyway and I could not be happier!!

Days are long here, we’re up and moving by 7 and do not get to bed until 11, but thankfully the Elders are here to provide comic relief! One elder can NOT get over how I´m from Detroit and has referred to me as Hermana Detroit : ) haha Another elder told me I looked like a Disney character, "not a cartoon one but one of those CGI ones like Tangled or Frozen" hahahahaha Well if that doesn’t make your day, I don’t know what will!

Today we played water balloon volleyball in the volleyball court and I was paired up with this Latino elder and we couldn’t communicate very well, ha-ha and my lack of sport skills didn’t help, the poor kid got hit more than once, but I learned the proper techniques for launching a water balloon : )

Life is good!! It may be hard but that doesn’t make it any less wonderful! I know that even though I can’t speak much Spanish yet it will be enough with the lord!! Yo se que Jesucrist es mi Salvidore, Yo se que Dios es amoroso (I know that Christ is my Savor, and God is loving)!!!!!!

Love you Tons!
