Hello all!
I can’t tell you how much I love Chile!! Santiago is a beautiful city, and we get to explore our neighborhood when we go on our daily jogs! Most people are on the streets walking or biking to work. The Chileanos (which is what they call themselves) are so friendly!
My flight was way fun, and the airport was not hard to figure out, you just smiled a lot and told everyone "Gracias" and "Pardon"
I am pretty pro at those two words now!! We are staying at what we call alcanturan, it’s an old embassy and is just beautiful.
My companion is Hermana Bedard who was actually in my ward in Provo!!!!! We were so excited when we saw each other in Alcaturan! I love her so much and she is so helpful and never gets tired of correcting my Espanola!! My and Hermana Bedard are Fire and Ice, she’s quite and I’m well..... Everyone has
to remind me not to yell, she knows tons of Spanish and I know little, I know how to plan in detail and she focuses on bigger picture. Sometimes It can be hard for us to understand one another (our Spanglish doesn't help) but because our talents are so different we can do soooo much when we work together!!
The MTC (CCM in Espanola) is fantastic! It is the hardest experience of my life, but it is worth every second! My Spanish is coming along, I'm the only one in my district (a group of 2 elders and 4 Hermana’s) who hasn´t had Spanish before so sometimes I feel behind but I'm starting to understand and even talk in Espanola! On Sunday we had a meeting where we could share our testimonies (all in Espanola mind you) but I got up and bore my four sentence testimony! I am determined to use this language and touch others through it! All of our teachers are Latino, they are wonderful
haha but don’t always get our jokes [?] Here at the CCM there are about 80 of us and half are Latinos who are from places like Mexico, Paraguay, Argentina, Chile and more! They are the best! And help our Spanish so much!
