Wow this week had some ups and downs! But that is life! And when you go into a down its time to just sing in the street!
One thing I learned this week is that it’s ok to learn! Lots of times we expect ourselves to be perfect right off the bat..... But life just doesn’t work like that! We have to start out low, to get high, we have to start out knowing nothing, to be wise! That has given me a lot of peace this week, as I continue to learn how to be a good missionary!
I also studied a lot about the atonement (sacrifice) of Christ! This is a topic that is so big it can be overwhelming! But we can each find our own way to better understand it! I found my answer in John 15 4 and 13-15
4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit ofitself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abidein me.
13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down hislife for his friends.
14 Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15 Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knowethnot what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all thingsthat I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.
For me the atonement means that we are part of Christ and he is a part of us! It means that we can be friends with him and can work with him as one, as a trusted friend and disciple!
This week we found out that one of our investigators has been lying to us.. This was a hard blow to us! These people are our friends and family and it’s hard to imagine them not being honest with us.
But right after we found out about that investigator we met this college student named Rosa! Her best friend is a member and we are going to teach her this week in the chapel! I testify that after each trail you endure (learning out about our investigator) you receive a blessing (Rosa)! Though we are sad to see our investigator go we are filled with hope for the future!
We also got to take a 'family photo' with our Chilean parents this week : ) The Family Alvarado have taken us in as their daughters and we are So grateful for them! They always help me to remember to smile, straiten my shoulders and get back to work: )
I love you all! And want you to know that I know that this church is true and that Christ is our brother and Friend! We can look to him for the help that we need!
Thank you for your support and love!
