This week I have grown up quite a bit! I am learning slowly but surely, that we do not have to give in to our own frustration or anger. We have complete control over our bodies and can choose to let go of the things that were bad in the day and ¨whistle a happy tune¨. I found myself more than once starting to get frustrated with the day and when I took a deep breath and started to sing a hymn to myself, I realized it was nothing to be worried about : )
This week we got a new president of the mission! It was sad to see pres. Essig and his wife go! Though they were only my president for 4 months, they made a huge impact on the missionary and person I want to be. Our new president is Pres. Videla. He and his wife are from the south of Chile and are TONS of fun! They are full of energy and love this work! Our new theme for this mission is ¨serve with Joy!¨ what a great goal!
This week we say a lot of miracles. My favorite two were with our awesome investigators Alma and Constanza!
Alma is a great young mom, but she moved houses and doesn’t have a cell phone so we, despite our best effort, we lost her. As we were going to an appointment Hna Ceccon yells, “It’s alma!!¨ and sure enough we see Alma crossing the road with her little family! We were able to catch up with her and get her new address!
Constanza is just the sweetest thing in the world! She has a lot on her shoulders! Her mom works but isn’t always very attentive and Constanza works and is studying to be a nurse and is practically raising her 5 year old brother, all at the age of 19! Needless to say she has a lot on her plate but she always makes time for the gospel! This week we taught her the Word of Wisdom, this is God´s commandment about what things we put in our bodies, we know that Things like alcohol tobacco, tea and cafe are bad for our bodies and God has told us that we need to not use these things. This is hard for many people at first because these things are addictive but as soon as Constanza read that she said “ÿa, I was just thinking that cafe was having a bad effect on my studying, well I won’t be using that anymore¨ ! And just like that she gave it all up! wow! God is preparing people to hear this word!
This week I have been studying the Love of God, Charity. This week one of my leaders told me that before we can help others feel God´s love, (something I want to do very much) we must feel it ourselves. So I found this scripture in alma 7, but put my name in it : )
And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions andtemptations of every kind; and this that the word might be fulfilledwhich saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of (your name).
12 And he will take upon him death, that he may loose the bandsof death which bind (your name) ; and he will take upon him (her or his )infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according tothe flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to succor(your name) according to (his or her) infirmities.
13 Now the Spirit knoweth all things; nevertheless the Son of Godsuffereth according to the flesh that he might take upon him thesins of (yourname) that he might blot out (his or her) transgressions according to the power of his deliverance; and now behold, this isthe testimony which is in me.
I hope that this makes you as happy as it made me! I hope that this letter finds you doing well!
love,
